ABADI Funeral Home started as a company that produces Coffins under the name “ABADI Coffin Company”, which was founded on May 15, 1966 by Mr. Adi Widjaja. The company also served funeral services using the mourning room, because at that time there were no funeral homes in Jakarta or in Indonesia. Under the leadership of Mr. Adi Widjaja, the company grew rapidly and became known throughout Jakarta and its surroundings. In the Jakarta area, this company is the main choice for the provision of Coffins including one of the First President in Indonesia, Mr. Ir. Soekarno.
In 1986, ABADI Funeral Home officially became the first company to have a funeral home permit in Indonesia, the company started providing funeral services on Jalan Daan Mogot No. 353, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, starting with 2 rooms. ABADI Funeral Home is an example of the first project in Indonesia and together with the Funeral Division of the DKI Jakarta Government to study the benefits of funeral homes in Indonesia.
In 2019 Mr. Adi Widjaja handed over the management of the ABADI Funeral Home to his son, Mr. Robby Budi Widjaja. Now the ABADI Funeral Home is managed according to modern management principles without losing its main objective, namely the family approach that has been a tradition since its inception as a family company.
